Low Voltage SN
The standard lamp used is an Osram
Decostar Alu. which reflects the heat from the fitting back into the
room. The resulting low rear temperature enables Snaplite to be in
contact with the insulation materials in the void without causing overheating
problems. It is important, of course, for the transformer to be located
in a well ventilated position. This is allowed for in the length of
the pre-cabled connection between the transformer and down lighter.
An IP version of Snaplite is available for Shower and Bathroom applications.
This uses a BLV lamp with a front glass.
Die Cast down lighters are unsuitable for Fire Rating applications because of
the low melting point materials used in their manufacture.
Snaplite’s pressed steel construction
enables it to withstand the fire for the full rated period.

All down lighters are supplied complete
with pre-cabled transformer and appropriate lamp. All components
can be installed from below the ceiling. A CD is available with 126 pages detailing the above tests and
their results. Please call 01527 595 349 for your copy. |
Mains MN
The mains version uses the same robust components and construction as its low voltage counterpart, described above. It incorporates an insulation stand-off which enables the 35W version to operate safely under insulation. However, installations should be avoided where the insulation and downlighter are compressed together. The 35W lamp gives a high level of illumination coupled with a saving in power. A 50W version is available for uncovered applications.
