Lamp (bulb) replacement

Replacement lamp details can be found on the label around the cap. Handle lamps around the rim taking care not to touch the centre.

It is important that, to maintain the fire safety and sound insulation properties of your Snaplite downlighter that the correct replacement lamps are fitted.

Press one side of the lamp assembly against the spring retainer and the lamp assembly detaches itself from the bezel   Push the red cap forward and pull used lamp from the assembly   Holding the rim of the replacement lamp, align pins and push firmly home. Holding the wires gently, push the red cap until its skirt sits cleanly on the rear of the assembly. Snap the assembly back into the bezel.

Please read before installation

All downlighters must be installed by a competent person registered to an approved Buiding Regulations Part P scheme or this new electrical work must be notified to your local Building Control Department before installation commences.

Lathe and Plaster Ceilings (see additional installation instructions)
We recommend that our outer shield (FS-OS)is fitted to take up any irregularities around the cut out. Please contact 0870 443 7735 to purchase additional shields when not supplied as standard.

Operating under insulation
The ideal location is a well ventilated one. However, with modern building requirements this is not always possible. Snaplite and its transformer have been designed and tested such that they will operate together perfectly when covered by insulation. However, do not fit in shallow voids where the downlighter and transformer are compressed by the insulation. The transformer is supplied pre-cabled to a length of 0.5M and it is good practice to place the transformer at the maximum distance possible from the downlighter. (both items are sources of heat and placing them far apart minimises their effect on the void ambient temperature)

Installation instructions 30 minute versions (plasterboard ceilings)

Drill a 68mm hole   Connect transformer to 240vac and place in roof space leaving push-on connector assessable   Snap in bezel
